The Fan in you

Dear SRK Fans,

For the promotions of Fan, I’m planning to write a novel called Fan. It will narrate the story of an ordinary fan of Mr Shah Rukh Khan and how the incidents in SRK’s professional, social and/or personal life influenced the fan’s thoughts, beliefs, and life altogether. It will be set in a time period wherein the entire filmography of Mr Shah Rukh Khan will be covered, as seen through the eyes of the fan.

The project is right now, in the primary phase, and we have a long way to go. After a month long brainstorming, the basic outline of the novel is ready. Also, I understand this is really ambitious project. But nothing is beyond reach when it comes to showing your love for SRK. I’ll be writing and building the character, but it will be unidimensional. Since the story is about being a fan of SRK, and every fan has his/her own unique way of loving, your stories/inputs would enrich the character to a great extent. The real hindrance in this project is the period of the story. Since it stretches past 2 and a half decades, a single perspective would always be incomplete. Hence, all of you are requested to write down your stories and forward it. Here’s what you need to write in your story:

1. The story should describe your most memorable experience about being a fan of SRK.

2. The story should basically depict an incident in the idol’s life that changed/influenced/had a deep effect on your own life.
For e.g. using SRK’s philosophy, (or dialogues from his films in real life) memorable incidents about a particular movie of SRK, etc.

3. The word limit for your story is 500 words.

4. There is no time limit, but send your stories by March/April.

Prefer sending stories related to the early phase of SRK’s life, if possible, preferably from the Fauji days to late nineties. People born in between 1985-90 should try their best to send their stories, as that’s the appropriate age group we are targeting. Send in your stories to my email ID YoursBrucey@Gmail.com . Note that your stories should be sent as attachments to your email, in txt, docx or unprotected pdf formats. Along with the stories, you can also send your inputs/ suggestions/ ideas to the abovementioned email address. If you are sending in your stories, mention ‘My Fan Story’ as the subject of your email. If you are forwarding your inputs or suggestions, mention ‘Suggestions for Fan’ as the subject of your email. There also will be meetings to discuss the detailing of the novel on various Instant Messaging platforms. If interested in such creative contributions, you can send an email mentioning that and providing your Twitter handle. More information will be made available on SRK Universe’s website soon. I hope you all are as excited about this project as I am, and you contribute in making this dream come true. Hopefully, we could bring a smile on SRK sir’s face with this endeavor of ours.
